Dr. DeVon Meyer
Dr. Meyer is a graduate of Celina High School and attended Manchester College in North Manchester, Indiana, and Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, for his Pre-Optometry studies. He received his Bachelor of Science in Physiological Optics and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the Ohio State University. He served two years of active military duty in Optometric Clinics at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, and the 85th and 95th Evacuation Hospitals in Vietnam. After discharge, he continued his service as a Senior Optometric Reserve Officer for the 2291st Unit and in 1990 was called to active duty during Operation Desert Storm.
In 1970 Dr. Meyer opened his Miami Valley Vision Care, Inc., practice at 309 Eaton Lewisburg Road, Eaton. He is licensed in the treatment and management of ocular diseases and has over three decades of experience in optometry and primary eye care. He has a special interest in the management of patients with ocular diseases – including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetes-related eye conditions – as well as the management of low vision and pediatric patients. He also co-manages the pre- and postoperative care of refractive surgical patients.
Dr. Meyer is active in the American Optometric Association, the Ohio Optometric Association, the Contact Lens Section of the American Optometric Association, and the Miami Valley Society of Optometrists. He has served as past president of the Vision League of Ohio and as a Clinical Instructor at the Ohio State University’s College of Optometry. Dr. Meyer’s community involvement includes the Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, and Past President of the Eaton Rotary Club.
Dr. Meyer resides with his wife, Ellen, In Eaton, Ohio. They are the proud parents of two children, John and Aran, and four grandchildren, Genevieve, Shea, Finn and Liam.

Dr. Karl Hofmann
Miami Valley Vision Care will be welcoming Dr. Karl Hofmann, OD to the practice in early June 2013. Dr. Hofmann was raised in southern Ohio where he graduated from St. Joseph High School in Ironton. He attended Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana and received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. After working for five years as a biochemical engineer for Tate & Lyle, he decided to return to school to pursue his true passion in eye care. Dr. Hofmann received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Ohio State University where he gained extensive experience in management of ocular disease, fitting of specialty contact lenses, pediatrics and binocular vision. He is excited to bring his knowledge and training to the Eaton community.
Dr. Hofmann is licensed in the treatment and management of ocular diseases and is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association.
Dr. Hofmann is joined by his wife Deanna and their three young daughters; Lydia, MaKayla, and Alyssa. Both Dr. Hofmann and his wife grew up in rural areas and wanted to raise their family in the same setting. When looking for a location to raise their family, Eaton was at the top of their list. Both Dr. Hofmann and his wife were active in sports throughout high school and college. Deanna is a 10 year 4-Her and looks forward to the girls joining 4-H when they are of age. They are very grateful to have the opportunity to join the community and call Eaton their home.
